Privacy & terms: the short version is the whole version
Seven lines a publication could collect from you. Six are ruled out. The one that is filled in is the analytics count, and blocking it costs this site nothing it was owed.
Our privacy policy is short because we collect almost nothing. Brevity here is a feature, not an oversight.
Privacy
What we collect. This is a static publication: no accounts, no comments, no newsletter capture on launch. We run one analytics property (Google Analytics 4) to count visits and see which reviews get read. Its provider is Google LLC, or Google Ireland Ltd. for readers in the EEA and the UK, and it records the pages you view, the referrer that brought you here, your approximate location to the level of a city or country, which device and browser you read on, and when the session began and how long it lasted. GA4 neither logs nor stores IP addresses. If you decline analytics, the site works identically and we lose nothing we were entitled to.
Cookies and consent. Analytics sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_<ID>, each kept for at most two years, and neither is placed until analytics is allowed; withdraw later and both are deleted. Readers whose device keeps a European time zone (the EEA, the UK and Switzerland) are asked before anything is counted, and no data goes to Google unless they press Accept. Elsewhere the count runs from the first page and may be stopped whenever you choose. A browser that sends Global Privacy Control is taken as a refusal, unless its owner accepts explicitly. Your answer is filed in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie, and you may revisit your analytics choice whenever you wish.
Google’s part. How Google treats what it receives is set out in its privacy policy. To opt out of Google Analytics on every website at once, Google publishes a browser add-on for the purpose.
What we never do. No selling of data, no ad networks, no advertising pixels. On our property, Google signals, ad personalisation and every advertising feature are turned off, so the visit count never serves advertising of any kind. Nor is there dark-pattern consent theatre: where we ask, Decline and Accept stand side by side. Email us and your address is used to reply to you, then left alone.

Accuracy. Vendors change prices without asking us. Every fact is checked against the vendor, and the corrections desk ([email protected]) exists precisely because July’s truth can be September’s error.
Reuse. Quote us with attribution and a link. Republishing whole reviews, or the rubric table with the numbers filed off, is not quoting.
